Welcome to My New House

Welcome to what I now call home sweet home. Well that is after a lot of blood, sweat, and many tears. The apartment market down here is very strange, back in Green Bay apartments were professionally cleaned, freshly painted, and inspected by your landlord. Here it's like, you wanna move in that will be $10,000 and your just renting so it doesn't matter what the house looks like, you get it as is. Ummmm....ok. This stipulation down here that you must have first, last, and security deposit in order to move in is blasphemy. Who in the world came up with this bullshit, moving is hard enough without having to fork out ten grand just to step inside your new place. Now here we are broke as shit but we have a roof over our heads...

We cleaned, we bleached, we mopped and even painted. This house looks nothing like it did before and unfortunately the owners were not grateful at all for all the hard work we put into his property. Even with all the good we did, there was still many things that needed to be fixed (and still do). The first week we were in the new place the dishwasher and washing machine broke...not fun when your trying to move and you can't clean and put things away first. Having to take trips into town to do a load of laundry which by the way costs almost $6 per load here (are you freakin kidding me) not only sucked but was a chore in itself. Then after that the sink disposal, the bathroom fan, the air conditioner, and none of the windows open. Needless to say the first couple months have been rough but it seems to get better with each passing day.

Now that were somewhat settled in a mostly clean house I am able to start turning this into our new home. Brand new house starts with a brand new attitude, i'm gonna start looking on the bright side of things. I'm living my dream and it's definitely time to start enjoying that. I can truly have my beach house now. So leave your flip flops at the door, the keys in the conch shell come on in...

My name is Katie Devroy, nice to meet you. I am just your wholesome small town girl from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Though I grew up in the Frozen Tundra, I have never been a fan of the cold. I have always had a longing feeling for the beach and the urge to leave here and never return.
