On the road again...

Let me tell you, we have made the drive from Green Bay to Key West before and this was the hardest one yet. Hopefully we are not doing that for a while now. We hit the road late at night to miss all the traffic, we got as far as Kentucky before we were too tired to go any further. We stopped at a hotel early in the morning and got to refresh ourselves, a great nap always does the trick, being crammed in that car was already getting to us. Once we woke up, we had to deal with a coconut oil mishap inside the cargo storage (Note to self: Make sure you carefully watch what people are packing in a black plastic case that's on top of your car baking in the sun...coconut oil melts in heat) then we grabbed a couple snacks and some energy drinks and we were on our way. We traveled through Tennessee and stopped for a bite to eat at a restaurant in Chattanooga called Taco Mamacita (Mexican probably wasn't my best decision because we both felt sick after eating here), Georgia was next I napped while Bob did some driving, when he got too tired I took over and drove us all through Florida till we arrived in Miami at my fathers hotel, by this time we were both pooped so we took another nap in a comfy bed and then we set off towards our final destination. Hopped on the highway and got stuck in a little bit of traffic, but all of a sudden we were ready to get on that one lane highway into the keys, this was it. 113 Miles to my new life in Paradise. As we drove through key after key I once again got that surreal feeling as if this wasn't real and I was just going on another vacation. We could see a storm coming in so we decided to take a pit stop at a restaurant in Duck Key called Anglers and Ales, and it became my new favorite place because they had pineapple beer on tap! We waited a little bit for the storm to pass then headed for the door. 1,698 miles down 61 to go, as we got closer I felt myself getting slightly excited, maybe this was becoming real. When we hit the 7-mile bridge I knew we were almost there! FINALLY I COULD GET OUT OF THIS CAR!!!! We arrived at the apartment complex and grabbed a few things out of the car headed up the elevator and walked towards our front door...locked. It took about 30 minutes to figure out where our temporary roommate was so he could get us the spare key. Up the elevator once again, turned the key, and swung open the door. Welcome to our beautiful new...shithole??
They say a clean home is a happy home...well shit this thing has been sad for centuries. Find out more about the apartment next time
